Norm Referenced and NYS Tests facilitates the administration, scoring and reporting of a variety of tests used to measure student ability and performance. We also automate reporting for those districts who use the NERIC to score all of the required State Elementary and Intermediate tests.  Click HERE for a list of tests supported by NERIC.   All schools, public, nonpublic, and charter, administering the Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics Tests, Grades 4 and 8 Science Tests, and the Grades 5 and 8 Social Studies Tests must first make arrangements to obtain answer sheets and associated scanning services from a Regional Information Center (NERIC).  After the open ended questions are scored by district personnel, regional scoring, etc.; NERIC scans the sheets and in the case of the Science/Social Studies tests calculates the final score and the Level.  The ELA, Math, NYSAA and NYSESLAT are scanned and forwarded to SED's contract holders who develop the scale scores for each test.
