- Norm Referenced and NYS Tests facilitates the administration, scoring and reporting of a variety of tests used to measure student ability and performance. We also automate reporting for those districts who use the NERIC to score all of the required State Elementary and Intermediate tests. Click HERE for a list of tests supported by NERIC.
- NERIC is required by SED to provide districts with the ELA/Math 3-8, NYSAA and NYSESLAT answer sheets. Districts have the option to add the Science 4/8 and Social Studies 5/8 to the Test Order. NERIC provides answer sheets with each students name printed on a sheet. After the open ended questions are scored by teachers, NERIC scans the sheets and in the case of the Science/Social Studies tests calculates the final score and the Level. The ELA, Math, NYSAA and NYSESLAT are scanned and forwarded to SED's contract holders who develop the scale scores for each test. Later the contracted companies send a data file to NERIC which is used to produce printed reports for the district.
- NERIC produces a set of reports for each assessment:
District & School Accountability Performance Report, ELA3-8, Math 3-8, Science 4/8, Social Studies 5/8 (Summary of students at the School Level.)
Student Roster with Benchmarks, ELA3-8, Math 3-8, Science 4/8, Social Studies 5/8 (Benchmarks show average scores at the School, District, BOCES and Regional Level.)
Student Item Analysis with Benchmarks, Science 4/8, Social Studies 5/8 (Benchmarks each test item at the School, District, BOCES and Regional Level.) *Report available upon request for ELA 3-8 and Math 3-8*
Group Item Analysis Multiple Choice, ELA3-8, Math 3-8 (Summaries of student performance at the School and District Level for Regular Ed., Special Ed. and all students together.)
Permanent Record Label, ELA3-8, Math 3-8, Science 4/8, Social Studies 5/8.
Individual Student Reports, Science 4/8 and Social Studies 5/8.
- NERIC Test Service will load the assessment data for ELA 3-8, Math 3-8, NYSAA, and NYSESLAT into the NERIC Data Warehouse. Districts who contract with NERIC for Science 4, Science 8, Social Studies 5 and/or Social Studies 8; NERIC Test Service will load the assessment data for those tests into the NERIC Data Warehouse. This data will be transferred to the NYSED Data Warehouse. In addition, districts may request a data file for each assessment at no extra charge. This data file may be imported into a spreadsheet for analysis.
- Survey Service - Survey students, parents, and community groups using custom scanable forms. NERIC will help design your survey, scan it and produce a variety of reports. Contact Bill Adam, (518) 862-5310 or Gail Newcomb, (518) 862-5355.
